    individual would be entrusted with the leadership of an organization without undergoing some form of leadership skills training. However, in non-corporate organizations such as community colleges, leadership skills are often  egregiously overlooked. Nevertheless, community college presidents represent one of the best populations for a demonstration of the effects of leadership skills training on leadership ability. Literature Review Certainly,  existing literature seems to suggest that quality leadership skill training produces higher quality leadership among community college presidents, at least where it has been properly studied and measured. For instance,  a 1997 qualitative study was undertaken to compare the correlation between leadership style and organizational success among a number of community college presidents, with the findings indicating a strong correlation  (Burstein, 1997). There is little denying that leadership training has some impact upon organizational success, and yet for the most part, community college curricula and operational standards are dictated by  corporate stakeholders, to a generally poor effect (Ayers, 1996). The result has been that more and more qualified leaders are beginning to transition away from the community college scene and  offer their services to universities, where superior leadership training is more openly valued and compensated (Floyd & Laden, 2007). That said, a few quality studies have been carried out  to attempt to isolate which particular leadership skills have the most impact upon the performance of community college presidents, including a 1997 study that assessed the performance of some 125  leaders and found correlations between high performance and experience of leadership skills training such as having an advanced degree in a leadership-related field, taking a leadership role by publishing scholarly  work, and so on (McFarlin & Ebbers, 1997). Based on such studies, the American Association of Community Colleges has attempted to codify the competencies they feel are most significant in
