    satisfaction to the majority, then that something is of intrinsic use. This equates to morality as well. However, when one enters into a discussion of morality, one must ask if  it is fair or even logical to assume that the majority are always right, and even so, if any one group has the right to dictate the happiness of the  individual. Utilitarianism basically asks the group to assess a situation in relation to the level of happiness of each person in the various situation. Comparing the results of the  various situations, the one situation that seems to have contributed to the greatest amount of happiness is deemed to be the morally correct one. However, the argument here is obvious.  For example, the execution of Jesus Christ. The majority wanted him crucified though his judge, Pilate, could find nothing to charge him with. The majority wanted Jesus to die, therefore,  an innocent man was slaughtered because, according to the principle of utilitarianism it gave the greater amount of people happiness to know that this instigator, Jesus, was dead. Was this  morally justifiable action, then, just because the mob mentality gained joy from it? How could any logical, reasoning person find otherwise? However, if one were to judge utilitarianism solely based  on actions, then the argument would end there. Utilitarianism, therefore, is their effect on society and the world at large. Actions, therefore, have no intrinsic moral value, but the effects  do. In fact, the only aspect of the state of the world that has any direct moral significance is the happiness or misery of people. And the argument about a  mob mentality is eroded when one actually sees that it is the individual who wields the most power in a utilitarian state. This having been stated then, one persons happiness
