    the way those figures are utilised. In recent years there have been considerations of how much accounting or financial information should be available to employee within an organisations. Open door  policies have been adopted by many as a way increasing the level of trust between employees and employers, seeking to create a form of co-operation between management and the shop  floor. However, in undertaking this form of openness there may also be seen the loss of some power in terms of the ability to use the accounts. However, the power  gained may be less direct, but equally as powerful, with the increased trust of the employees a lower level of conflict and greater degree of collaboration may be not only  powerful in terms of corporate strategy but may also be a source of competitive advantage. Conversely, the ability to retain financial knowledge and only release it as required is  also capable of giving a higher degree of control, however, it is likely that in this scenario there may be limited power gained. In any limited company there is the  need to register the annual accounts, and as such there will be a level of information available publicly. Where this is a private company there may be a high level  of power but this may also act against the company if the figures or performance is not what is generally expected in the industry as assumption will be made and  when figures are revealed they will not be believed. The use of figures in a positive light is a fairly recent occurrence. In looking over the past there has been  a very conflicting model of collectivism used, with management on one side and employees on the other. In models such as this information is power to be utilised against the
