    5 pages in length. Defining the relationships that exist between and among government, politics, democracy and power is a task that draws its conclusion upon a very fine line. Indeed, while all four of these entities have something significant to do with one another, at the same time they each possess their own particular arrangement within the wide and varied scheme of bureaucratic function. It can be argued that one needs the combination of power and government in order to enact any level of politics; however, it can also be contended that there does not necessarily have to exist any sort of democratic considerations as a means by which to operate that government. This specific point speaks to the concept of power and authoritarianism, rather than power and democracy as it is in the United States of America. One only needs to consider contemporary movies, magazines or books to realize the significant impact power and gender have upon the content  of popular culture, confirming the accusation that the male gender is all-powerful within its various segments. Sexuality is perhaps one of the most  influential of all power and gender roles in popular culture. As such a primary product of popular culture which has firmly staked its claim in the mass media, the  lure of sexual power has proven to be a significant lure in such sectors as mass advertising and moviemaking; indeed, there is no element of popular culture left untouched by  the role sexuality represents within the power of popular culture. So entrenched is the concept of sex and prime time television that there is hardly a single program on  the air that does not exhibit an obvious display of overt sexuality, or at least allude to some sort of sexual reference. What  does this infiltration say about society as a whole? Unquestionably, it states a great deal about the patriarchal influence that exists in contemporary popular culture. Some of the  issues that concern the use of sexual power roles in popular culture include the contention that sexually explicit prime time television programs corrupt the moral fiber of society; that women  given the wrong perception of how they are supposed to look, act and feel; and that the infiltration of sexual content gives children the wrong impression with regard to morals  and values. Indeed, it can be argued that the overwhelming presence of sexually explicit overtones in todays popular culture has lead to the moral decay of society, as well
