the use of human input time by allowing technology to performance many of the time consuming function and free up increase potential. This, along with the perception of lower ongoing
costs, has attracted many companies to make use of information technology. However, it appears difficult to realise the perceived benefits. This means that for any implementation of information technology there
will need to be careful consideration of al goals prior to any investment decision. 2. The Hypothesis Statement. To look at this we will use the hypotheses that the
investment may be an organisation in information technology will result in increased value as long as the measures which are used look at more than the direct levels of productivity
and consider the context f the industry. 3. Outline The paper will need to begin with a an in-depth literature review that consider how information technology in business has, or
has not, resulted in increased productivity. This will include looking as theories such as the productivity paradox and how this has emerged. The paper will also look at the ways
in which there have been additional value created by the use of technology and the different measurements that may be undertaken to measure this value rather than the use of
the traditional productivity measures. This can then be expanded into the way value measures may contradict the productivity paradox. With the use of the literature a strong foundation will
be formed in the first few chapters, identifying the problem and the theories and tools which can be used when undertaking a primary study. The next stage is to
undertake some primary research. This may be either qualitative or quantitative. The ideal study will be qualitative comparing a single company and the way it performed prior and post IT
