    began logging on, not just to sell products, but also to help manage their own internal operations. As a result, a variety of information systems and networks in a variety  of areas have been set up for e-business. E-business, although a new concept, is proving to help businesses become more effective, efficient and less expensive to run.  In this paper, well examine four such systems by outlining case studies. Well examine Customer Resource Management for customer service, Electronic Data Interchange for procurement,  Enterprise Resource Planning for information management and inventory management as well. Well examine these systems by examining case studies - companies - that have used these systems successfully.  Customer Resource Management Customer Resource Management (CRM) is the fairly basic system of ensuring that customers receive what they need from suppliers.  But sometimes what customers might need doesnt involve the actual product -- but rather, better management and better service. CRM helps a company ensure that it all comes together  for the customer - from sales efforts, to product distribution, to follow-up. During the mid-1990s AlliedSignal Corp. learned the hard way that  it had to do something about its customers (Levinson, 2002). They simply werent being serviced well (Levinson, 2002). When American Airlines, one of AlliedSignals clients, complained about the service AlliedSignal  was supplying, management knew something had to be done, especially when the management had heard from other customers that AlliedSignal was too hard to do business with (Levinson, 2002).  There was a good reason for this - the main problem was that AlliedSignal Aerospaces four business units did not share information about
