on electricity, and this need is seen as continuing, However in order to meet the demands of the future as well as take into consideration the reliance on imports of  oil as well as the increased demand that will be faced it become very apparent that there is a need for investment to develop and provide increased facility to produce  electricity form natural gas. The problem is how this may be achieved. The role of gas may be seen as a positive one, as in increasing the supply of gas  there may be a drop in the level of oil imports that are currently used in order to provide energy. It is also a cleaner form of energy. The  current level of electricity is seen as increasing, and the current supply level of gas, which produces 16% of the electricity in the United States may be problematic. Natural gas  is seen as a fuel of the future, and is one that the country may tap into for itself. However, the country only has a small percentage of the world  reserves; 3.3%, and the current level of production will only equate to the equivalent of creating 12.8% of the countrys electricity by the year 2025. However, projections indicate that  for the US to shake of the energy crisis that it may face, this will need to be increased to 30%. If this increase is to be achieved and  we need a larger amount to be spent on the way that the energy is sourced, and used then we need to make this acceptable to the electorate and those  with the power to pass the budgets. This will mean a change in the way gas is portrayed and in increase of the need in terms of priorities. There
