    subordination of peoples. This includes ridding the world of things like classism, sexism, racism, not only in the classroom but in the community and the world at large. The social  justice educator believes in empowering minority groups who are underrepresented in all aspects of society and in all components in life. At the same time, social justice education is the  pedagogy adopted by the social justice educator. This type of education presents materials in the curriculum that are free of biases towards any group of people, whether race, ethnicity, religion,  gender, sexual orientation, disability, age and so on. The education has the very same objectives and goals of the social justice educator - to eliminate any and all forms of  discrimination and to distribute power equitably across the society. This type of educator must involve himself or herself in significant study so as to gain an understanding to the  macrosociety. This means the educator must understand the larger political, cultural, economic and social issues that impinge on peoples rights in a free society. This is not an easy goal  because the complex nature and interweaving variables can make it all but incomprehensible. It becomes even more confusing and vague for the individual who naturally believes in true equality and  empowerment across the entire population. The reasons it becomes so confusing for this type of personality is that they dont understand why people are discriminated against in the first place.  True, perhaps a na?ve personality but they do exist and they have great trouble understanding. This philosophy goes far beyond the "color-blind" approaches. Color-blind is a mentality that is rather  absurd, when one thinks about it. It is a ridiculous metaphor. A person cannot be color blind and attempting to promote this type of approach only results in more problems
