There  are many Internet start up companies and while web design is something that is quite common, there seems to be plenty of business to go around. There is in fact  a demand for Web design and support programs in order to provide a structure that small businesses can comprehend (Mehling, 1997). Many small firms want to be connected with a  Web site but do not understand the nuts and bolts of the process, nor do they know what the return on investment will be like (1997). Small companies do not  have big budgets but they realize that they should probably have some sort of Web presence (1997). This is where a savvy web design company comes in. Companies can offer  small and large businesses expertise in the area and create stellar web sites to promote both large and small businesses. A web designer  may want to use Mac platforms but can also use Windows as well. HoTMetal Pro is one type of software to use to create web pages and is available for  both Mac and PC, but there are many more choices. When creating a web design company, the chief operating officer will want to hire artist/programmers who are familiar with the  available software.
