The terrorist attacks upon the World Trade Center and Pentagon  reflect the loathing that stems from severe oppression, backwards thinking and a desire to rid the world of those not deemed worthy. With absolutely no regard for human life,  Osama bin Laden orchestrated an assault upon a country where freedom and democracy reign supreme, trying his best to break America at its very foundation. This unconscionable and calculated  act of fanaticism in the name of quelling Americas fervor for global domination did not warrant the moderate counterattack the United States made upon Afghanistan; rather, it was a call  for the US to completely annihilate the source of terrorism. The uses and limitations of military force to retaliate against international terrorism reflect  the very reason why war is perpetually waged against powerful nations. The United States has military power that very few other countries can claim; as such, those with inferior  capabilities are left to resort to unsavory tactics in order to make their political point. Defining the relationships that exist between political power and international relations is a task  that draws its conclusion upon a very fine line; indeed, while both of these entities have something significant to do with one another, at the same time the significance is  that they each possess their own particular arrangement within the wide and varied scheme of bureaucratic function. It can readily be argued that one needs the combination of power  and government in order to enact any level of politics; however, it can also be contended that there does not necessarily have to exist any sort of democratic considerations as
