    Both of the poems appear to be discussing finding oneself and becoming something unique and perhaps natural. Of course, there are other possibilities inherently possessed in the two poems, a  reality which is often the case when looking for a theme or meaning in a poem. But, for the most part both poems appear to be offering us a look  at the search for identity or definition. In the following paper we present an examination of the two poems, illustrating how "Ego Dominus Tuus" appears to be an elaboration on  the theme presented in the earlier work "A Coat." A Coat Yeats wrote "A Coat" in 1916. This poem is an incredibly short poem, consisting of only 10 lines.  As such we present the poem in its entirety: "I MADE my song a coat/ Covered with embroideries/ Out of old mythologies/ From heel to throat;/ But the fools caught  it,/ Wore it in the worlds eyes/ As though theyd wrought it./ Song, let them take it/ For theres more enterprise/ In walking naked" (Yeats 1-10). This particular poem seems  to indicate that through all of the work and introspection of the narrator, the originality, if there was any, was taken away by others. The knowledge, perhaps the clever comments,  and perhaps anything else this artistic individual had to offer, was taken and used by others. As a result, this individual decided that it was perhaps better to create nothing  in terms of originality. It was perhaps better to merely "be." In merely being "naked" an individual can possess nothing worth stealing for all is simplicity and honesty. We  can also note that this individual may well have been trying to be clever and creative. They may have worked at being learned and clever. They may well have been
