THE FACES OF VIOLENCE  Violence towards women is alive and well on virtually every college campus across the nation. In spite of the legal ramifications that accompanies even the  slightest inkling of nuisance, the threat of violence still remains a significant concern among university students. Campus administrators are forever attempting to address the problem in ways that will  not only deal with offenders once the crime has been committed but that will also avert if from occurring in the first place. Perhaps fifty years ago, one would  not make the correlation between college and violence towards women; to be sure, institutions of higher education were places where young adults were able to seek out their personal and  professional goals within a safe and secure environment. Today, however, all that has changed inasmuch as female college students are being forced to deal with the constant threat of  violence. "...It is important to approach the issue of violence against women from different perspectives: increasing physical safety on campus; including violence against women in curricular content; and working  toward changing attitudes towards women that condone, or may encourage, acts of violence towards women" (Saunders, no date). Issues of manhood and  masculinity are at the forefront of domestic violence. Men who feel a sense of importance and control over their wives tend to have a greater incidence of spousal abuse  than do those who regard their mates in a more respectful manner. While domestic abuse occurs in every corner of the world, it is much more readily acceptable in
