a method for the workplace to adopt a culture of diversity. RACIAL DISCRIMINATION IN THE WORKPLACE It is frustrating to many entrepreneurs such as those at Rent-A-Center that the
labor market is one of the most complex, yet one of the most important aspects in business. Economic theory states that the demand curve for labor is a downward
slope while the supply curve is upward sloping. Where these two lines cross is the equilibrium wage at which those people wanting work get hired. The effective entrepreneur
has learned to deal with this throughout the years and to focus his business accordingly. Because of extreme competitiveness in the business as far as the labor market in
particular, we find that oftentimes workers are told they must cooperate and be willing to pull their weight, work harder with less equipment and otherwise work to secure their jobs.
Humanity has been enduring an ongoing battle for centuries: the strained relations among the races. Despite efforts to put the past behind, signs remain at nearly every juncture that
there still exists a strong sense of racial dissension. There is virtually no segment of society that is not affected by racial stereotypes, which are oversimplified or mistaken attitudes,
opinions or judgments. One can readily argue that racial stereotypes have become an integral - albeit undesirable -- component of the everyday workplace. Indeed, a perfect society would
reflect an attitude of equality -- rather than one of segregation -- toward the myriad ethnicities that exist in todays working world; however, as much as humanity has moved away
