    - February 2001 -- properly! William Shakespeare made it look so easy. Considering his  prodigious output of plays and sonnets, the words must have flowed effortlessly from the Bards pen. However, for most people, the thought of writing anything is a challenge comparable  to scaling Mt. Everest without ever having a lesson in mountain climbing. What is it about writing which makes it such hard work? This is a question which  has been asked by students and writing professionals alike, and based on comment complaints, a general consensus can be determined. First of all, there are few things more imposing  than having a blank sheet of paper staring back at you. If you are a student asked to write an open-ended theme, finding something to write about can prove  to be quite a challenge. Then, there is the opposite problem of having a subject matter to write about which is so restrictive, there is almost a sense of  defeat before the writing process even begins. Before embarking on any type of writing project, take a deep breath. Sometimes, the mind tends to blow things out of proportion,  and if a person has very little writing experience, just the very thought can be a source of great discomfort. It is recommended that the student writing about this  topic consider that one of the most important aspects of any type of writing, whether it be a term paper, a magazine article, or a novel, is organization. After  all, that is what writing is, presenting thoughts in an organized way. However, that is easier said than done, as many writers have learned the hard way. A
