Introduction Yasmina Rezas play "Conversations After a Burial" is a one act play written in  French and then translated by Christopher Hampton. It is essentially a story about the death of one individual who is perhaps unloved but also loved. It is, as can be  guessed, an intricate and emotional play. In the following paper we analyze the play using information that comes primarily from a review of a showing at the Almeida Theater in  London, England. Structure The structure of the play involves "Paterfamilias Simon Weinberg" who has just "passed away, and, according to his wishes, has just been buried -- not  beside his wife, in the cemetery, but on his own land. The mourners cover the coffin with dirt as the play begins" (A Literary Saloon & Site of Review). We  see that three of his children are present, adults in their 40s. They are Nathan, Edith, and Alex. "Also in attendance is Pierre, their uncle (on their mothers side) and  his wife, Julienne, -- as well as ?lisa. ?lisa is the odd woman out: formerly Alexs mistress, she actually loved Nathan (to distraction)" (A Literary Saloon & Site of Review).  What takes place after this is a dramatic examination of the family who is left behind.
