At the same time, there are peculiar concerns about security in terms of other personal information  besides credit card numbers and consumers do need to know whether or not their information is really safe when participating in an online environment. Some security methods  such as encryption are implemented to secure consumers identity. Still, there is little in the way of government regulation today but there had been many proposals made in recent  years.
