    This letter of complaint covers the eight points that every complaint letter should make in order to be most effective. EIGHT POINTS TO MAKE According to Charles  E. Brown there are eight points that every letter of complaint should make: * Have a point * State the facts * Praise before criticism * State your expected end  results! What do you want? * Professionalism counts * Be patient but not passive * Send copies of source materials when applicable * Finally, dont fold your letters (Brown, PG).  By using these eight very important and successful suggestions the letter writer has the best possible chance of making an impact and receiving a professional and appropriate response to  his or her letter. An example follows: Dear Sir or Madam: In March of this year a friend and I took the 5-day luxury spring break cruise on your  cruise line as advertised on your website. The cruise was disappointing to say the least. The conditions that were promised were not met. Both my friend and  I are unhappy with the services we received and wish a total refund of the $1,950 we paid for the cruise. Your website promised "spacious accommodations, excellent food twenty-four hours  per day with outstanding service and luxury surroundings". When my friend and I arrived onboard and entered our cabin we were surprised to see that we had the smallest  size cabin available onboard and it had bunk beds. Also it was on the lowest deck on the inside. We specifically had reserved an outer cabin with view,  mid-sized and with two twin beds. Upon informing the shipboard office we were told we could not change cabins. When we showed the office manager a copy of
