This is the margin at the deduction of the cost of goods sold only as a  percentage of the sales. It is interesting to note that this remains the same in all three years, this is 20%. It may indicate that it is the gross profit  margin that is the main budget driver. The traditional profit margin is the net profit margin that also has  all other expense deducted from the operating profit, this may or may not include interest payments as well as extraordinary items ether being added onto or taken off of the  balance. However, it will not include taxation. This is also known as the net profit margin.
