valued client, his secretary tells him that he has a call from Marc Lupien, a loyal client. In the case study, it has been noted that the interviewer understands Lupiens
financial situation very well, so he really does not have to do research. At least, that is what he thinks. This in some way demonstrates that Buissona has been doing
his job and that he is on top of what a clients portfolio. Although that is the case, he perhaps returns the call too quickly. He might have thumbed through
the files just in case he had forgotten an important fact, or at least he might have had some relevant information handy. However, when the professional picks up the phone,
he does smile, and this is good practice. It gives the interviewer self confidence and projects a friendly attitude on the phone, even though the other individual cannot see him.
Gaetano says: "Hello, Mr. Lupien, Gaetano speaking. How are you?" This was his first mistake. He might have said: "Hello, Mr. Lupien. How are you? This is Gaetano. What
can I do for you?" The reason for the recommendation is because when asked, Lupien went on to say: " Well, you know, its not easy getting old. Today Im
feeling all right, but last month I caught a nasty cold on my way back from Florida. Ive lost all the energy Id stored up from the sun. The winter
seems to have been pretty tough in these parts." While that may not have taken extremely long, if in fact Gaetano was busy, or if he did that on every
call, it might cost him time. Also, in this interview submitted by a student, it is noted that this particular client tends to be chatty, and so Gaetano must watch
