5 pages. Author Harry L. Watson
in his book Andrew Jackson vs. Henry Clay captures the political
conflicts between these two powerhouses of the nineteenth
century. Watson expresses the deep competition and conspiracies
that arose out of the power struggle between the two men. He
makes his point well that although Jackson and Clay were involved
in controversies and disagreements with each other, they each
contributed greatly to the governing of America and, while not
putting their differences aside, at least allowed their good
works to get carried out in spite of their conflict.
