    that abounds which allows it to prosper? This is the proverbial Chicken and the egg syndrome. Trying to decide which came first, democracy or business, is nearly impossible. However, several  authors, all leading experts in their fields, have lent their perspectives on these questions and others. Those authors include, Russell Ackoff with his book, The Democratic Corporation, Lepore and Cohens  book, The Theory of Constraints and the System of Profound Knowledge, and Keeping Teams on Track by Linda Moran, Ed Musselwhite and John H. Zenger.  A Radical Prescription for Recreating Corporate American and Rediscovering Success is a rather verbose title for what Russell Ackoff proclaims is a simply concept taken to  its fullest potential. In his book Ackoff states that there are basically three different ways in which business, particularly in America, has succeeded above and beyond the founding fathers wildest  dreams. For example, in chapter four, Ackoff speaks about the implementation of his theories which were tested in several government agencies and a few bigger businesses.  One way that he advocates businesses fully embrace the spirit of democracy is that each manager is subject to a panel of workers, in addition  to their superior. This panel manages to set policy for the organization. One can see where this would be advantageous and does take advantage of the idea of a democracy.  This type of structure insures that the workers have a say in what types of policies are decided upon and therefore workers are less likely to complain or go on  strike. This removes the ultimate power from resting on any one person, alone, which is how the Constitution originally foresaw democracy being applied, and is the main point of Ackoffs
