organization, but also that of the organizations workers and families. Todays business environment is such that there is no time for luxuriously lengthy studies of issues and conditions.
The speed at which business moves today precludes giving the manager inordinate periods of time to examine issues from all angles. Instead, s/he
must rely on the information at hand and make the best decision possible given the extent of that information. Herbert Simon referred to this approach as "satisfice" in his
recognition that managers never can have full information about every issue before them. There are frameworks and methods that can provide guidance, however.
