    things arent quite so positive. First of all, any sales position, it seems, has its host of negative images, including pushy, loud and bossy people who dont know how to  take "no" for an answer. Yet the positives toward a career in drug sales are many, despite the negative images and hard  work. For one thing, the salary is good and the hours flexible (meaning a viable balance between career and home life). For those who like challenge, pharmaceutical sales certainly provides  it. And for those who believe theyre making a difference, this field provides an opportunity to offer help to those who are ill. This is, in fact, why many people  enter the pharmacy field in general - to help others recover from illnesses; and pharmaceutical sales is no different in this aspect. As a pharmaceutical representative, you are partnering with  the medical establishment to help keep the population healthy - or to help an ill population become better. The purpose of this  paper is to demonstrate that a career in pharmaceutical drug sales involves more than "pill pushing" or interrupting busy doctors to deliver a pitch for a fancy new drug that  just came on the market. This paper will demonstrate that this difficult career can be rewarding as it provides a worthwhile living for many people, while providing them the opportunity  to sell a product that can cure ailments and improve the quality of life. Many of those entering the field find theyre  in it to help others; they see it as their calling (Anonymous (a), 2002; see also Anonymous (b), 2002), in this case, by bringing the most recent cures and medicines
