    new divisional senior vice-president, he changed the culture of the division and he did it quickly. He was an autocratic, dictatorial manager who demanded that everyone do things his way.  It does not take long for morale to plummet and given that, productivity will also plummet. People become dissatisfied with their jobs and would prefer to work elsewhere. This was  obvious in the comments addressed to Mike Wilson when he returned to the division. Mike was a "people person" and Jack was a "task person." The two were bound to  collide and find themselves in serious conflict. Since Jack was the boss, it was Mike who would suffer. Jack believed in strict adherence to rules, his rules. He believed in  and demanded everyone emphasize tasks and goals that he set. He did not care a whit about people or morale. In this kind of environment morale had nowhere to go  but down. Employees went from having a manager who was either completely laissez-faire, like Rick, or a manager who believed in building people up to increase productivity, like Mike. Jack  was the complete opposite of both of them. He was a task-master with no regard for peoples feelings and who did not care about employee morale or job satisfaction. In  his philosophy, people could either adhere and follow the rules he set or they could leave. It did not matter to him. The organizational culture was one that focused on  task completion, not people. Mikes attempt to get the message across to Jack that Jacks management style was hurting the people and the company was doomed for failure.  Any autocratic manager will not look upon the forum that Mike initiated with any among of favor no matter how the group tried to hide the real message. Jack saw
