    is that all there is to Christianity? If so, then why the decline in churchwide attendances over the past decade or two? According to James Colson in his controversial discussion  of the Christian faith, How Now Shall We Live, the failure of the church (regardless of denomination) has been that the church has failed to embrace or adopt a worldview.  This worldview is central to the thematic structure of the book and in essence if it were to be removed from the total dissertation would leave his presentation without  focus and mode of conveyance. Therefore, it is essential to understand why Colson has determined to hang his ecumenical hat on the worldview. So, why is a worldview important?  According to Colson, there are at least three very distinct reasons. First, human beings crave order and pattern. Without it, and science has born this hypothesis out, human beings, and  specifically civilization, fails to prosper. Therefore, understanding the physical and even moral laws that God has put into action can only further the human species ability for survival and ability  to thrive. Secondly, and perhaps just as relevant is that a worldview must be adopted, states Colson, in order to reach the lost. Gone are the days when every  head bowed to pray before meal time. In fact, if one were to walk into a room and shout, "Jesus Saves", the likely wise crack may come back, "Saves from  What?" Relevancy to a real world outlook is crucial to touching the lives of those who have never known a living and active God in their lives. God cannot be  an abstract concept any longer. The idea of God cannot afford to be bantered about inside seminaries and on the 700 club if the world is to be reached. How
