    means that each individual interprets any set of words through their own filters. Filters include things like ones perceptions that are based on past experiences, culture, language backgrounds and a  host of other factors. Put very simply, each person is likely to interpret any communication message in a very different way than any other person. This is a fact of  being human. Our backgrounds give us different perspectives than persons with other backgrounds and since each person is unique in any number of ways, the probability of miscommunications, of misunderstandings  is very high. As Tom Peters asserted: "Communication always sucks. Its very simple: ITS THE HUMAN CONDITION. There is always...LOTS OF... communication distortion. i.e., Nobody knows whats going on; everybody  has a different story. To make communication even half way decent, even half the time, youve got to work like hell at it... ALL THE TIME! Get it right? NEVER.  EVER" (The Jensen Group, 2001). In their book Communication Change, T. J. and Sandar Larkin said that "If communication changes behavior, its good communication; if it doesnt its bad communication.  All the usual standards for evaluating communication must go; improving morale, keeping employees informed, building an identification with the company. Those phrases cover up the truth: The communication isnt working,  isnt doing anything, isnt changing the way they act. Communication should have one goal; improving performance. It should change the way employees do their job" (The Jensen Group, 2001). Organizations  face the challenge of a multitude of employees who have different communication patterns. The challenge is to be able to communicate to effect changes and to run an effective organization.  Managers must communicate with their subordinates. They must get clear messages sent if they expect employees to do their jobs effectively. The manager can be involved in hundreds of communication
