use of services over time. This study was designed to create consistent measures of assessment to be utilized over a period of years, during which time children experience services
that can improve their functional development. Copp et al. (2007) utilizes a longitudinal data collection method and the two instruments described
were both quantitative, used to evaluate the performance of children through assessments of the individual child and of caregiver perspectives. The quantitative method is related to the use of
measures that collect numeric data; the measures and their outcomes are evaluated in terms of specific scores that are obtained and a comparison of those scores. One of the
methods for determining that the measures used were quantitative rather than qualitative was to determine the type of data produced from the measures. In this case, Copp et al.
(2007) utilized the Child Behavior Checklist for Ages 4-18, which is a 113 item questionnaire that is based on a Likert scale formula. The outcomes of this measure
result in a comparative score with a range of between 23-100. The second scale, the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale, is conducted of the child population and
has 8 subscales with a 0-30 scoring system based on 0 meaning no impairment and 30 being the highest level of impairment. The eight subscales result in a numeric
outcome of between 0-240 for the culmination of the subscales. Quantitative methods are defined by the use of this kind of snapshot approach to data collection, where the
data is collected and quantified at a specific time, and outcomes are concrete. The data collected was also evaluated using an SPSS program, SPSS version 10.0, which is
