we wish to consider how these forces conjoin to influence a company we can look to the ideas of Mintzberg and the way that he determined these influences would impact
on a company. The best way of demonstrating this model is to apply it to a specific company, In this case study we will use a construction company form
Hong Kong, yet in undertaking this we will se how it may also be applied to other companies in other geographical or commercial sectors. He we will use the company
of Chevalier (Construction) Company Limited (CCCL). To begin with we need to consider the structures that Mintzberg argues there are four main structures, these are shown in the grid below,
there are two main differential on each axis, in reality these may be seen as a sliding scale, but in considering the influences we can consider how the company may
react in terms of organisational structure. In this we see that the environmental variety = complexity x pace of change. Therefore in industry where there is a high degree of
technological change, with a larger degree of complexity will result in a wider variety of organisational structure. Figure 1; Impact of the environment on structure (Mintzberg et al, 1998)
Simple Complex Stable Machine Bureaucracy Professional Organisation Dynamic Entrepreneurial Start Up Adhocracy In looking at this and considering the manifestations of the influences we will see that
