Her unfolding story or examination of Don Quixote is one which addresses many different aspects of social realities,  gender issues, and the search for love. In the following paper we examine her book as it relates to seeking love. The paper also incorporates something of Craig Owens "The  Six Faces of Love" in examining the work of Acker. Don Quixote As Ashraf (2001) states, "One accompanies Quixote through Ackers shifting skinnerbox of a narrative in pursuit  of a love fit to right all wrongs, only to find variously thwarted attempts at legitimization, juxtapositions of radical politics, rhetorical aporias, semiotic experimentation, momentary efforts to center the subject,  and a residual axiom-crafting persistence which burns up in its own fuel" (adnan.htm). This, perhaps, sounds confusing enough and it is, especially when we understand something of Ackers work. It  is a work that delves into many areas of consideration, concerning the original figure of Don Quixote and Ackers vision of Quixote, or visionary change. In the following we see  an excerpt from an interview with Acker which also helps us to understand something of the story: "While I was waiting to have the abortion, I was reading Don Quixote.  Because I couldnt think, I just started copying Don Quixote. Then I had all these pieces and I thought about how they fit together. I realized that Don Quixote, more  than any of my other books, is about appropriating male texts and that the middle part is very much about trying to find your voice as a woman. So whatever  feminism is there is almost an afterthought, which does not invalidate the feminism in any way...A complaint people have had about my work is that Im not working from a
