community were addressed when the migrants first entered the country, these needs focuses on communicable diseases such as TB, malaria and HIV. As the population have settled it appears the  health needs have changed as the issue of communicable diseases has become less important as there has been a shift to chronic non communicable conditions such as hypertension, heart diseases,  diabetes and osteoporosis. The policies to meet the needs for this community have not be adjusted as a result of these changes; the result of this inaction is a  potential deterioration quality of life for the migrants and increased costs in social support to the benefits agencies and healthcare costs for the NHS. The paper will examine how some  of these costs may be reduced by understanding the healthcare needs of the Sudanese migrants, examining their physical needs and the ways in which a sustainable development may take place  with preventative healthcare programmes used to empower the community. This will include a test programme enhancing access to healthcare material with the translation of the materials into Arabic. The  aims are to identify the shifts in health patterns and influencing factors to use these along with the assessment of preventative healthcare programmes to develop an approach to healthcare that  will benefit both the community and the state in the long term.  Table of Contents 1.
