    As violence continues to climb in Americas schools it becomes evident that the emotional needs of the students are not being met. Great pains are given to improving the academic  progress of students, but it would seem that the aesthetic and emotional health of the student population is excluded from the education of the student. Therefore, any attempt to stem  the rising current of violence must begin at the root level and strive to offer students alternatives to violence, offer them tools in anger management so that students do not  feel that their only recourse or solution to a problem is to lash out at society and others. IDENTIFY A CLIENT GROUP WITH A COMMON ETHNICITY, ANCESTRY, OR CULTURAL  BACKGROUND AND SHARED LEARNING NEED.(CE#1) Kings Canyon High School is located in an area which has predominantly served as a mill town since its incorporation. A majority of the parents  still work in a factory, with generations of families having known only mill factory work. With the towns population reaching nearly fifteen hundred people, this could be classified as a  small rural town. This presents a problem as the economy and forward progression of time have reduced the need for the factories and the textiles produced. Mass layoffs are common,  leaving much of the population stranded educationally and economically. Since working at the local mill has always been the way of life for the families in Kings Canyon, families  are hard pressed to cope with the loss of a factory job. There is a very low percentage of these townspeople who go on to college. However, with the changing  environment in Kings Canyon, it becomes evident that students who graduate from Kings Canyon High School will have to look toward a different future than that of their parents.
