Whether money, fame and material wealth is indicative of iconic stature, or if that praise is  more appropriately placed with those who make a difference in society, is something that is quite personal in nature. No matter what inspires an individual to look up to  another, however, the bottom line is that there is a benefit from this adulation. That is, after all, the primary standard for being classified as an icon: the inherent  ability to influence others in a positive direction. With an infectious smile, a childlike imagination and a vision come to life that changed the way both children and adults envisioned  fantasy, Walt Disney was one of the worlds most treasured and beloved role models of all time. Spawned from a single imaginary seed, Disney created what was to become  the best place a kid -- or kid at heart -- could lose himself in the fun and frivolity of what lies within one mans imagination. Disney not only  encouraged people to unlock their playful, childish sides, but he also gave the public insight to their own inner selves as he so generously gave of his.
