by which to reduce that cost. Today, although there is still the same need to use energy, there is a greater level of control that can be exercised by an  industry. Managing the power that is used to maximise the benefit is seen in a variety of ways, from the choice of provider, to the electricity infrastructure used and the  equipment use within a facility. The pressures causing the need to re-evaluate energy use and management are both financial and also social responsibility or environmental awareness.  There have been developments of new technology that have facilitated savings for industry, both before and after the junction box. One of the newer developments in this  area is the industrial application of high-temperature super-conducting cables (Energy Conservation News PG). These have aided the role of distribution with the manufactures in speed reliability conductivity, and ultimately in  cost as a result of these benefits (Energy Conservation News PG). These are being field tested now by Southwire in Carrollton (Energy Conservation News PG). Practically it mans that the  cables can carry power up to 1,250 amp at 12.4 kV (Energy Conservation News PG). As with any energy transmission the insulation of this has many safety aspects, and the  conductivity is insulated by "Cryoflex" a proprietary cryogenic dielectric tape material (Energy Conservation News PG). The advantage is not only the increased capacity, but the increased reliability that the superconductors  also provide (Energy Conservation News PG). It is projected that these three cable would have sufficient capacity to power the entire town of Carrollton in Georgia where they were made,  and that the market for these will grow to a volume of $30 million by the year 2020 (Energy Conservation News PG). The reason for their role being so important
