MANS FATE The entire basis of this book lies in the opening scene in which Chinese terrorist Chen Ta  Erh is faced with assassinating a sleeping man. What leads him to this desperate place, and how can he deal with such an unpleasant task? When one is  in desperate straits and must succumb to this type of action, what does it do to ones psyche? Author Andre Malraux has filled his book, Mans Fate with even more  questions that cause the reader to wonder what could have brought a man to this point and to this type of heinous action. This paper will look at  some of the factors in China that could have created characters this riveting and why their blatant and horrifying actions should be at the level to which they have come  to be.
