• Research Paper on:
    Managing Technology; Studying Motion Sensors

    Number of Pages: 4

    Summary of the research paper:

This 4 page paper looks at why it is important to study the use of motions sensors in a university with the aim of reducing power wastage. The paper then presents some recommendations of the research and some conclusions. This is followed by three example power point slides one for the introduction, one for the recommendations and one for the conclusion. The bibliography cites 2 sources.

are not renewable meaning that eventually these will be depleted. The use of renewable or sustainable energy has been the subject of many studies, but whatever solution is found there  is the need to reduce the way energy is wasted. This is recognised nationally and many measured have been introduced by different authorities in order to try and encourage  efficient energy use, form the use of motion sensors to the way power is used internally to the different power using systems. In this case motion sensors in the university  may be used to reduce the level of energy that is wasted by turning off lights in rooms where there are no occupants. This indicates way there is a  need for a study for measures such as motion sensors to be used in the classrooms on campus. There are many different reasons for this study. The altruistic role of  the university campus as a responsible energy user cannot be ignored. The campus will set an example for all those who use it, wasting energy is a message that is  being sent out where there are no measures in place to reduce energy wastage. As an institution that is looked up to and influential it is in a unique position  to help lead the way, influencing others as well as being a large energy user. Therefore it may be seen as an ethical responsibly of such as institution (Chyssides and  Kaler, 1998). There are also different cost benefits that will benefit the students with potential impacts on lower fees or a more effective use of resources to provide other  facilities. For all resources that are used there will always be opportunity costs, reducing the level of energy used will increase the resources that can be used elsewhere. There
