But why should they when virtually any desired information can be instantly obtained - and for free.  Print magazines - along with television and virtually every other sector of mass media - just cannot compete with the speed, ease and price tag offered by the Internet, sometimes  feeling the financial pinch from their own Web sites. Virtually all genre of magazine publication have been negatively impacted by the technologys monumental  growth over the past decade. While hundreds upon hundreds of titles are currently being offered free of charge, a number of other publications cannot afford to financially extend themselves  as a means by which to stay afloat; as such, more and more titles are falling by the wayside. One publication that appears to remain unscathed throughout the technological  takeover is National Geographic Magazine. Its unique and highly valued presentation has effectively established this particular magazine as one of the industrys strongest. The editorial content of National  Geographic Magazine has an unlimited range that spans from trivial to consequential, from lighthearted to somber. Indeed, there is virtually no subject that has not graced the pages of  National Geographic. In keeping with its stellar reputation as a provider of the most current world information, the magazine offers a considerable amount of current events topics that keeps  its readers abreast of significant and contemporary goings-on.
