    receive a grant from the fictitious Heritage Center and its fictitious proposal of project to document the "individuality of family" in either nuclear or extended form. Because this is fictitious  and because no type of family was specified, well choose an individual family here. A married couple with one child that has no blood relations close, but instead, has managed  to create an "extended" family through friends and neighbors. Well call this family the Smith family. The student would begin a proposal  with the following. Dear sirs and madams: I am submitting the following proposal for your review, with the goal of receiving one of your grants to study a unique family.  The name of this family is the Smiths, and these people are unusual and very much worth study on several levels. The  reason why this family is so unique and worthy of study is because this is a nuclear family that has managed to extend its love and caring to other non-related  people, and because of this, has created an extended family that looks out for each other. I propose that the money I would be awarded from the Heritage Center be  used to study this particular family, because this goes to show that extended family doesnt necessarily have to be made up of blood relatives; but those who look out for  one another. How the study would be conducted. When receiving this money, I would conduct the study by first meeting with the  family itself and determining its dynamics, its decisions (for example, why only one child instead of many and why did they move to this particular area) and what these family
