there is the consideration of how this may occur and the real impact of the Guttenberg Galaxy theory. Indeed, with the arrival of more forms of information and communication it
may be argued that even this concept is outdated, despite it appearance only thirty years ago. Just as there is the consideration of television in the new media, this
can then be extended to information forms such as the internet, extending the ideas of Manuel Castell and his book The Rise of the Network Society where he argues
that there is not a mass culture. Indeed in looking at information flow in this way it may be argued that there is a gradually emergence of a general mass
culture. This is one that has many subdivisions but looks to similar values and also to similar presentation and interpretation. The paper will look at the concept of
the Guttenberg galaxy, expanding that which has been examined in Castells book and the consider how relent it is today in an internet culture hpw information is obtained used, disseminated
and then disposed of. 2. Media Usage As this is an essay that is looking to the use of media in new ways and how the spread of information
and its impacts on society there will need to be a range of media used, with information taken from the new media. The traditional sources are still present, therefore books
