This particular study used literature to investigate nonverbal communication, cross-culture variances, and  implications for educational and workplace settings by examining the impact of demographic and cultural factors on non-verbal communications. Research Questions. This study  answers how culture influences non-verbal communication in social interactions, how non-verbal messages influence the communication process, and the implications of these findings for interpersonal interactions in the educational setting and/or  workplace. Purpose of the Study. The purpose of this study was to outline theories and models of nonverbal communication; to review the  literature to ascertain to what extent demographic and cultural factors influence non-verbal messaging; and to provide a comparative analysis of the current literature on nonverbal communication.  Importance of the Study. Nonverbal communication conveys emotions that individuals are unable or unwilling to express. Although some nonverbal behaviors, such as expressions of  happiness, fear, and sadness, are generally clear, they are often ambiguous and require careful reflection. Much nonverbal communication is culture bound and requires careful comparative study.  Research Methodology. The methodology consisted of a critical review of the literature that examined the influence of demographic and cultural factors and social situations on nonverbal  communication. Internet databases and Web resources, such as ProQuest, Wilson Omnifile, and PsychInfo, and library resources were researched. ANALYTIC REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE
