At the time that this article was written, CEO and founder Aaron Kennedy explains that they had been considering going public ("Noodles &  Co. may be seeing," 2004). That is the primary challenge that this company faces. The restaurant franchise has been doing remarkably well, and there are advantages and disadvantages to  going public. Other challenges faced by this firm is related to product. Just as fast food chains have added light fare to their menu in light of diet trends, Noodles  & Company had added vegetable dishes ("Noodles & Co. may be seeing," 2004). The article did include a commentary suggesting that while there is a low carb craze, that did  not affect sales anyway ("Noodles & Co. may be seeing," 2004). The challenge is whether or not to play with a tried ad true menu, further altering it, or to  stick with what works. Food trends will change, but this founder had a vision and tweaking the food options too much might not be a good idea. It is  reported that Kennedy does meet weekly with a recipe development team ("Noodles & Co. may be seeing," 2004). Finally, another concern is the changing of people at the highest levels  of the organization, thus creating a situation where the corporate culture is influenced. It changes inevitably due to different appointments. For example, Betsy McLaughlin was elected to the Board of  Directors and she is the CEO of Hot Topic ("Noodles & Co. may be seeing," 2004). It is also noted that the atmosphere is supposed to be appealing to young  people who were weaned off of fast food ("Noodles & Co. may be seeing," 2004). Still, changing the Board of Directors can alter a companys image and this is something
