Ni Dhomhnaills poetry is the expression of Irelands very soul, encompassing myriad emotions, feelings, and desires that reflect  the authors love of homeland. Often represented in her poetry are rage, love, happiness, sorrow and despair as a means by which to illustrate the passion she upholds in  honoring her countrys language, utilizing poetry as the avenue of release for the inner struggles that can be set free through no other means than verse. Pharaohs Daughter serves  as a catharsis to Ni Dhomhnaills aching heart as much as it is a conduit between two otherwise strangers who have never before partaken of Irish poetry.  The structural basis of Pharaohs Daughter is symbolic of Ni Dhomhnaills intrinsic creativity and ability to see beyond the obvious characteristically reminiscent of the common themes  of life, love and landscape, as well as the not-so-happy aspects of human existence.
