    of society. From the art forms to the social constructs, each changes in repose to the society in which it is perceived. It is as a response, and even in  rebellion, but definably in reaction to many of the ideas, that we seen the post modernist movement emerge, a reflection back on former, more traditional ideas. In Britain today we  may argue that the society in which we live is a postmodernist society, seeking to look forward, but in that looking forward trying to regain that which has been lost.  If we consider this argument then we need to consider the proof for its assertion as well as the ideas that maybe used to counter this, and argue that  it is merely modern, without this reflection to the past. To look for the evidence we only need look around us, to the literature, art and even the media.  Here there is an embodiment of the way in which styles are changing and the cultural attitudes which are not the same as those past, but absorb the necessary elements  in order to be seen as post-modern. The Media may be seen as one of the largest influences on social life, it influences as well as reflects the society in  which it manifests. Here we may see a post-modern attitude. The influence of many other cultures has been seen in the medium, and the role of the Cinema may be  seen as one that is most influenced., The majority of films we see today are made in the US. However, when we look at many of the successful films created  in recent years, we can argue that they are a through back to the films that were once made, the longing for the past, for the values it represents and
