    using cited sources...] The elements in regards to the process of writing sound documents are considered to be essentially "prewriting", "drafting", "revising", and  "editing" (MIT, Writing). Some documents and technical reports can also benefit from a more structured outline which could be introduced before or after the prewriting step. Quite often as well,  most documents could benefit from an additional proofreading step highly recommended after the editing process. Although each step is important to the entire process of writing regardless of the material  needed, most people have personal preferences as to which steps are considered easier, or come more easily to them, and which steps are considerably more difficult. [After the introduction, each  element is elaborated and in some cases personal or specific examples are used to highlight an idea or component of that step...] The step of "prewriting" is considered as the  part of the process which involves all of the elements which come before the actual drafting and writing of the paper, article or short story. This could be considered the  "research" aspect of the writing process in which materials are accumulated which will eventually be used in the written report. Personally, research is one of the most exciting and interesting  steps in the writing process. No matter what the source or how much people think they already know about a certain area of expertise, intensive research in any particular area  will always reveal more facts and interesting detail which feasibly could open up new facets of the topic. [A personal example using the topic of "Henry VIII" is given  below. This is an example provided by this writer to provide an interesting idea in tutorial form.
