    showing itself on American soil. Terrorism poses a real threat to our country in this era of unrest throughout the world and it has become obvious that no overnight  solutions exist. It is interesting however, to try and understand terrorism from the point of view of the terrorists. Who are these men and women so ready to  give their lives for their cause. Are their causes sound? Are they reasonable? Are these people lunatics with goals of mass destruction simply for the pleasure taken  in the challenge? In truth, there are thousands of known terrorist groups and therefore there are thousands of reasons for terrorists. Some are extremists who find adventure in their  line of work. Others are truly the result of oppression and have reasonable demands based on basic human rights. Many others falls somewhere in between. The question then,  is are these groups justified in their actions? Is there moral ground to support their actions based on prior peaceful attempts to gain basic human rights which went unnoticed.  Is understanding possible when men and women who fight for equality bear violence upon others who are not responsible for their inequality. These are tough questions with equally  tough answers.
