Nelson  - July, 2001 For More Information On This Paper Please Introduction In less than five decades the relationship between  employees and their respective organizational structures/ employers has seen a dramatic evolutionary shift. In the past, workers knew very little (if anything) about their organizations financial status because as  a rule they were not privy to that type of information. Corporate financial documents were considered privileged information suitable for, and thereby shared predominantly with the organizations executive staff,  investors/ shareholders, and the like. Moreover, the pervasive posture of these organizations was such that workers were relegated to a markedly subordinate position. In todays employee / company  relationship there has been an appreciable change in recent years as employees are not only given access to more of their companys financial and previously clandestine data; but the change  is prompting a trend that bodes to be even more open in the future. This essay examines a number of issues relevant to the past, present and future workers  relationship with their respective organizations, and those organizations becoming increasingly forthcoming. The Past Organizations of yesteryear by and large kept their  financial information secreted away from its employees. This was done because in those bygone days there were a plethora of issues at work. There was a palpable hierarchy  - a demonstrable separation between the workers and company executives/ owners. It was a very different time wherein the segregation between the social classes was not only distinct, but
