    Summary of the research paper:

This 8 page paper presents and justifies the choice of methodology to assess the way a change employees are likely to view a change in an organization, in this case the introduction of a balanced scorecard. The paper presents useful hypothesis which may be used, outlines a methodology, provides an example questionnaire as well as discussing the pros and cons of quantitative and qualitative research. The bibliography cites 2 sources.

the performance of the firm. Prior to introducing it there is a need to assess the current situation and view of the potential implementation. To aid with the implementation  process the research which will be undertaken will be designed to assess to what extent the implementation of the balanced scorecard may be seen as a threat, to assess how  this may be managed and to determine if it would be possible to use the balanced scorecard to improve the firms performance, identifying how this may be achieved. Primary  research will need to be designed to collect data in order to answer these questions. The process will use a mixed methodology approach, gathering both quantitative and qualitative data which  may be analyzed in order to provide answerers to the above questions. The research will start with the formation of an hypothesis, followed by a research design that will facilitate  a testing of the hypothesis and facilitate an investigation into the issue that will allow reasonable conclusions to be formulated. The statement from the choices provided is the second statement  which has the aim of assessing the degree to which the implementation of balanced scorecards may be seen as a threat. This question has been chosen as it is a  key issue that will need to be assessed before planning to introduce a new system. The question also goes on to assess how the perception of threat may be reduced.  2. The Hypothesis The research questions are a starting point, in order to undertake research on a scientific manner in gathering data which may be analyzed statistically it is  necessary to formulate a clear hypothesis. The hypothesis (H1) is a testable statement, presenting a presumed assumption regarding the subject of the research which may be tested (Curwin and Slater,
