    this was often achieved by developing new technological and policy-driven solutions to maximizing the use of resources. However, the dawning of the 21st century has brought with it a boom  in the spread and adoption of information technologies, such that these solutions are no longer sufficient to create a competitive advantage, but indeed must be adopted by most organizations just  to break even. In order to achieve a lasting advantage in todays markets, then, a business must look internally, to the resources it already has at its disposal, in an  effort to tap more value from them and develop a new type of advantage. One of the most common approaches to this task is to adopt new approaches to leadership  that facilitate greater efficiency and productivity at all levels of the organization through a leader-driven change in culture and values. This raises certain questions, however, as to what qualities of  leadership are best suited to delivering real value to the organization in terms of promoting a market advantage. Many have suggested that one of the most important qualities of leadership  in the newly globally conscious markets of the 21st century is a strong grasp of ethics and a commitment to carrying out organizational strategies and missions in an ethical manner.  Research Question and Hypothesis Instituting a change in leadership in an organization is a tempting approach to cultivating a significant business advantage out of resources the organization  already has on hand: namely, the leaders. However, it is not a change to be undertaken lightly, as it often involves a lengthy process of adaptation wherein the new leader  becomes comfortable in the role dictated by the chosen style of leadership, and followers adjust to the new work environment. For this reason, it is critical to have some inclination
