    it the same way as beginning any business. Prior to opening the doors to any new enterprise appropriate market research must be done. In creating a proposal to do this,  various decisions must be made in respect to how a statistical study could provide necessary support in the decision-making process. The focal point of such an investigation must be  on whether or not a particular objective will be well received by the public. What will be acceptable and what will be rejected? Other important details go to hours, location  and marketing strategy. II. Hypothesis A student may choose a hypothesis that will be relevant to profiting by opening a Christian book store. One hypothesis might be that opening  a book store to serve the Christian public should be located in an area near a large church. Another hypothesis could be that carrying a variety of books with various  viewpoints on Christianity might offend some religious customers. There are so many questions that one may want to ask when opening a store of this type. For example,is this a  viable business in todays secular climate? Some say yes and Kiesling (2001) contends that the genre has done well since September 11th. However, one should not be complacent. Many people  think that such stores are immune to crime but that is not the case (Legall, 2003). Regardless of crime, whether or not the business will do well is very  important and as they say, location is the ultimate criterion when starting any business. Therefore, data should be collected to make sure that a location is suitable. The fist  suggested hypothesis will be used in relation to this proposal. III. Methodology In order to discover whether or not a vacant store nearer to a church is better
