to get into cyberspace in order to sell goods and services. As can be expected however, with any new method of sales or distribution, using the Internet as a  sales and distribution tool has led to a huge share of mistakes - not to mention a huge number of business failures and bankruptcies, which have shaken the industry.  Despite that however, the Internet will continue to loom large in terms of commercial use. The movement of goods or services from  one area to another is known as e-commerce. These days, e-commerce is assigned more to activity is taking place on the Internet as opposed to activity is taking place  for example, on the telephone or by fax. Furthermore, brick-and-mortar companies that are using e-commerce (i.e., the Internet) to move their goods  and services are taking place in an activity that has been dubbed "e-tailing." E-tailing also refers to those strictly on-line businesses that sell through the Internet. Because the use of  the e-tailing is still so new, many mistakes are being made - and challenges encountered -- as companies attempt to sort out what they can and cannot do online, and  what customers will logically expect from these companies. As can be expected, new models are being created for these so-called "clicks-and-mortar" companies - as well as their strict online  counterparts. Despite the nay-sayers who tend to point fingers at every failed company that has gone on line, the truth is that  the retailing aspect of e-commerce is here to stay - it has become so strong ingrained in our consciousness, it wont fail soon.
