    1. Introduction In any business the employees are one of the most important resources. Even where  there is a highly automated company employees will still be needed to manage the operations as well as for contact with clients and the intellectual inputs. There have been many  firms, for example, Walt Disney Co., which have gained a competitive advantage as a result of the good employee relations which result in loyalty, attitude or other positive inputs of  their staff (Thompson, 2007) Other firms have suffered as a result of poor employee relations, as seen in the last few decades of the twentieth century, especially in the automotive  industry (Thompson, 2007). The difference between a good employee relations and poor employee relations can make a great deal of difference to a business in terms of costs and  productivity. If firms are seeking to maximize the use of their resources then it would make sense for them to understand the way that they can maximize the use employee  labor by managing the employment relationship. 1.1 Aims and Objectives The aims of the research are to identify the different models that help to explain the way that employee  relationships are impacted by the behavior and attitudes of the workplace and the way that the employer may be able to influence the relationship. The models will need to include  those that explain poor and good employment relationships and look at the impact that they can have on the behavior and motivations of the employees. The objective is to  look at how the accuracy and relevant of the models in a real company and consider which frameworks or approaches by employers appear to result in the best levels of
